Even the most experienced designers can slip up, so it pays to know what to avoid when creating an interior. At AULET we’ve singled out the five most common mistakes — and how to avoid them:
- Poor zoning. Plan in advance where the main functional areas will go. Decide where you’ll rest, work and store things, so the space stays convenient and ergonomic.
- Not enough light. Too few light sources make a room feel gloomy. Combine central lighting with additional lamps, floor lamps and wall sconces.
- Too much decor. An excess of decorative pieces makes a room feel cluttered. Choose a few accent items that underline the style of your interior.
- Furniture that doesn’t fit the space. Large furniture makes small rooms feel even smaller. Choose pieces that match the size of the room and leave enough free space.
- Ignoring personal preferences. Your interior should reflect who you are. Don’t follow trends blindly — choose what you genuinely love and what makes you happy.
Avoid these mistakes and your interior will be cosy, functional and stylish. Read our blog for more tips and inspiration!
